These days, TikTok has become one of our favourite destinations to discover the best ofnew beauty, from novel new trends to cult shelf must-haves. However, amid the constant influx of beauty content, it takes somebody special to truly carve out a place of their own on the app as a recognised guru. 24-year-old, self-taught make-up artist Mikayla Noguierafalls firmly within this category. Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, Noguiera has established a name for herself on TikTok thanks to her in-depth product reviews and flawless beauty looks. Her following on the app—currently in excess of 12.7 million—is also thanks to her warm, chatty personality that makes you feel as if you’re having a candid conversation with your best friend.
Having been chosen to helm the first influencer collaboration with much-loved beauty brand Glow Recipe, Noguiera took the time to share all of her best beauty secrets with Vogue Singapore. Read on for her dish on everything from her favourite self-care hacks to skincare saviours and make-up essentials, including her plans for her upcoming wedding day beauty…

Everyday beauty routine:Inthe morning, I start by washing my face in the shower with African black soap before applying my Glow Recipe Glow Essentials By Mikayla Kit, then sunscreen and make-up primer—the exact ones I use vary depending on the day. I’ll then finish off by applying my make-up on top.

Top mental health practices:Put your phone away and be present with your loved ones.Write down an easy-to-accomplish goal everyday and cross it out once you’vecompleted it. And drink plenty of water!
What’s a beauty tip that you swear by?The ‘concealer spackling’ trick. Lay down a matte pot-styleconcealer on top of any blemishes or acne, and allow it to fully dry on the skin—avoid blending. Then go over with your foundation for a flawless finish with reduced texture and noappearance of the breakout.
We’re all invested to know: have you found your dream wedding foundation yet?My wedding foundation will be determined by the make-upartist who does my make-up on the day. I’ll leave it up to them! But it’s fun to play aroundwith different foundations to see what I would like for my big day.

You so beautifully and authentically share your life, including thoughts on mentalhealth and body image, with us on TikTok. What advice would you give anyonestruggling to find their voice and love themselves? My biggest advice would be: don’t consumesocial media. It may sound weird coming from me—a social media influencer—but theway we absorb media can be very damaging. We constantly compare ourselves with others, and itcan get to a point where we no longer like who we see in the mirror. This is what Istudied in college. Learn who you are without social media. Who are you deepdown? What is important to you? What fulfils you? We can put as much make-up andskincare on our face as we want, hoping to feel fulfilled, but I promise you—you haveto dig a bit deeper than that.
Finally, we’re so excited about your collaboration with Glow Recipe: the Glow Essentials By Mikayla Kit. What do you love about Glow Recipe? My favourite thing about Glow Recipe is the brand’s founders—theyare absolutely exceptional. They are such hardworking women with a passion for effective and scientifically backed skincare, and they put so much love and knowledge into each product launch. They genuinely care aboutwhat they put out on shelves. Glow Recipe products are cruelty-free, vegan, and aim to be better forthe environment with their packaging. Glow Recipe is also all about raw beauty. They avoidusing words like ‘perfect’ or ‘flawless’ in their product launches and campaigns, because they understand that these expectations can be damaging. They don’t retouch or edit skin on their campaign photos, which allows for consumers to see realistic skin. I think it’s extremelyadmirable. Glow Recipe has been a dream to work with and I would do it all over again!
